Amy Roark
Amy is from Chattanooga, Tennessee where she graduated from Covenant College in 2006 with a B.S. in Biblical Studies and Missions. After seeing the need for disease prevention and health education around the world, she obtained a Masters in Public Health from Benedictine University and joined the mPower Staff in 2011.
Barry W. Norfleet, Board Member
Barry joined the mPower board in 2010 to be a praying partner and help provide legal guidance for the Executive team and the directors. He is a Licensed Attorney in Kentucky and serves as Senior Vice-President, Senior Trust Officer and Legal Counsel of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co. in Frankfort, Kentucky. Barry and his wife, Tracy, have two teenage sons.
Erin Owen, Communications & Events
Erin graduated from Asbury University in 2007 with a B.A. in Applied Communications. Upon graduation she worked for Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher in the Kentucky Office of Faith-based and Community Initiatives. She joined the mPower staff in 2009. Erin lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband, Mitch, and their 17-month old daughter.
Jerry Batson, Board Member
Jerry is the Internal Auditor for Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He has been an active member of the church for many years. Jerry worked for the Federal Government for thirty years with The Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District, as the Director/Chief of the Internal Audit Office. He also worked at Chilton & Medley CPA’s as their Forensic Services Director. Jerry and his wife, Joyce, have two children and one grandchild.
Linda Eng Webster, Executive Director
Linda graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry’s Caruth School of Dental Hygiene. Linda has served as an mPower Board Member before becoming Executive Director in 2010. She and her husband, Jack, have 2 children and 2.5 grandchildren.
Lori Bordas, Director of Partnership Development
Lori joined the mPower Staff in 2010. Lori works with our US partners and in-country ministries to coordinate mPower trips. She and her husband, Rick, have four sons and six grandchildren.
Mark Erwin, Board Member
Mark, entrepreneur and founder of Mark’s Feed Store, lives in Louisville, Kentucky. He has a heart for marketplace ministries and would like to see more micro-business models included in missions. Mark holds a B.S. in Hospitality Management from the University of Tennessee. Mark has served on the mPower Board since its formation in September of 2009. Mark and his wife, Kelly, have two sons.
Norman T. Schenk, Chairman of the Board
Norm, a vice president at United Parcel Service, has 30 years experience in supply chain logistics and security. He has been on mission trips to Jamaica, Indonesia, Myanmar and Brazil. He has seen the mPower model work to train and equip nationals to reach people in their own country. Norm and his wife, Ruth, have two children and three grandchildren.
Dr. Steve Cherry, Board Member
Steve is our newest board member. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1980. Since completing an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Long Island Jewish/Queens General Hospital, he has been in private practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 29 years. His expertise in dentistry is a wonderful asset to our dental modules. Steve and his wife, Gwen, have three children and two grandchildren.
Steve Saint, Board Member
Steve was born and raised in South America. His parents were missionaries in Ecuador. In 1956 his father, Nate Saint, and four other missionaries were killed by the Waodoni Indians while attempting to make peaceful contact with them. Steve graduated from Wheaton College in 1973. He is the founder of The Indigenous Peoples Technology and Education Center (ITEC). mPower came to being after Steve and Dr. Charlie Vittitow saw a need for training indigenous people. Steve and his wife, Ginny, have four children and sixteen grandchildren.
Dr. Tom McKechnie, Board Member
Tom has been an ER physician for 26 years. He graduated from The University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine in 1980. Tom has been an active participant in medical missions across the globe. He serves as the US Council Chairman for Life In Abundance International. Tom and his wife, Karen, have three sons and one granddaughter.
